Shabby Chic - My photoshoot

So you might of already guessed but I am absolutely completely obsessed by colour! I have written essays about colour theory and I even arrange by books into colour order (make of that what you will!) After a long day's shoot I am really happy with the results of this shabby chic themed (again another obsession!) colourful still life.

Trend Alert: Wall stickers

Good morning! Now if you are a bit of a wallpaper phobe then wall stickers are a great and easy way to introduce colour and interest into a room.

Top decorating ideas:

*Use large motifs on large expanses of a wall. Small motifs look better in on small wall spaces.
*If you are choosing a tree or branch then nails can be used at different points to hang objects of interest i.e. jewelery, scarfs, tea cups etc so it looks like it is adorned in chintz!
* Some stickers (like those from www.wallglamour.co.uk) are waterproof so they can even be used in the bath or shower!
* if you don't mind a bit of extra work then go for stenciling using spray paint www.etsy.com/shop/simplystencils do a great line in french shabby chic stencils.

Here are my fav sticker finds.

Spring has finally sprung and with it I am looking towards my next holiday and I thought I would share this little beauty of a hotel with you. The Grand Hotel in Oslo, Norway has a floor named 'The Ladies Floor'. Each room is dedicated to a famous female Norwegian actor, designer, musician or athlete.

Zenza - A collection inspired by Egypt

Zenza owned by Karin and Hussein has become increasingly famous for its Egyptian inspired lamp collection  which came about when Karin took a trip to Egypt 16 year's ago. A favourite amongst stylists and designers their products are sold in Liberty's and also through their website.

All the products are handmade which gives them an extra value and beauty. Ancient techniques are often combined with a modern twist in the designs to develop a very elegant, intimate but nevertheless modern atmosphere throughout the collection.
